Spring Styles
That spring is now an established fact is proved by the number of days we have enjoyed, recently, when thick coats and stockings would have been unendurable. There is a mildness in the air these days which betokens warmth to come and the cold of winter far behind. Among the smartest of the spring collections—our thoughts, of course, instantly turn to the problems of suitable frocking—there are some delightful versions of new styles. One ensemble noticed recently in Sydney, comprised a sheer black organdie hat of enormous dimensions, shadowing a charming palest green frock of the same material. Innumerable tiers of flared ruffles met at a point in the back and formed the white collar and sleeve effect to much desired these days. The graceful femininity of this creation was completed with a large posy of white violets. Organdie, by the
way, and posies of real flowers are the rage at the moment and frills and flounces the key-note of fashion. Some people, however, still lean to the masculine in their attire and smart checked suits—usually in some shade of blue, are very much worn. Very often, though, these have some softening touch such as an organdie bow or blouse. Navy and white, and black and white are as popular as ever and while some wear outsizes in hats, others are still faithful So the gob and turban type of headgear.
