Sir, —Some time ago the public of Invercargill subscribed to a uniform fund for the Civic Band and being a patron at the very splendid concert given by tile band I was disappointed to see a number of bandsmen appearing in mufti, which undoubtedly spoilt the appearance. The band has some very fine supporters in the city, who worked very hard to secure this uniform and it seems a pity to have the general appearance of the band spoilt by the incident I have referred to. —I am, etc., INTERESTED,
