HARRIERS
COMBINED CLUBS’ RUN. The two local clubs, Invercargill and St. Paul’s held a combined run on Saturday afternoon, there being a muster of some 30 runners. Under the whistle of E. Moyle the pack followed a trail, which, starting from St. Paul’s Hall, crossed the Estuary at the Drill Hall and followed the Embankment south to the Otatara road. Half a mile along this road, the paper went across country in a north-westerly direction to the road boundary of the prison farm. A division of runners took place here, G. Lindsay taking the fast pack through to Bay road and home via Dee street. The slow pack broke across country again towards town and, making the embankment at the Drill Hall, ran in from there, J. Loudon (Invercargill) showing the way. The fast pack ran in from Duke street, A. Hind, R. Petrie and G. Lindsay, all of St. Paul’s, being prominent in a fast run home. The rtin was followed by tea at St. Paul’s Hall, where the runners did full justice to a hot tea, the executive members of St. Paul’s being kept busy satisfying the healthy appetites of th® harriers.
