WHEAT COUNTRIES

TENTATIVE UNDERSTANDING. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 12.55 p.m.) London, July 20. Wheat consumers and producers met this morning and formulated a tentative understanding by which consumers will lower tariffs as prices move in producers’ favour. The position continues to be subject to reservations. Whatever is achieved is unlikely to have a far-reaching effect, particularly concerning Australia.
