CASE ADJOURNED

MAGISTRATE DISSATISFIED WITH INTERPRETER.

(Per United Press Association.) Christchurch, July 17. The hearing of charges, nearly all under the Gaming Act against 28 Chinese, took an unusual turn in the Magistrate’s Court this afternoon when Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M., expressed dissatisfaction with the interpreter and adjourned the hearing till to-morrow to enable another interpreter to be obtained. “I am not satisfied with the interpreter,” he said. “I am going to have a subpoena issued for another. All I want is the truth and I am not satisfied that I have got it so far.”
