TUATAPERE NOTES
W.D.F.U. (From Our Correspondent.) In connection with the Tuatapere W.D.F.U. a box-opening afternoon was held at Mrs G. Hamilton’s residence on Friday, the 14th, ten ladies being present. The box, which was opened by Miss Kokay, contained instructions for planning the rock garden. After the pamphlets had been studied a competition was held which was won by Mrs H. Benneworth. Afternoon tea served and an enjoyable meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the hostesses . Loyal Orange Lodge On Friday last the members of the Tuatapere branch of the Loyal Orange Lodge held their annual ball in the Papatotara Hall, which was taxed to its full capacity by the large crowd present. • The Green Valley Dance Band supplied music, extras being played by Miss Fraser. A lucky spot waltz held during the evening was won by Mr and Mrs C. Brown. The duties of M.C’s. were capably carried out by Messrs H. Ridder and C. McAra. Some of those present were Mesdames Greig, Coughlan, Skipworth, Brown, Coughlan, Ogilvy, Cook, Rodgers, Harper, Duff, Perrin, Atkinson, Erskine (2), Donnell, Harris,. Walker, Robson. Clarke, Smith, Fluerty, Young; Misses Campbell, Sutherland. Brocket, Hart, Dixon, Hellier, Fraser, Whyte (2), Erskine, McKay, Wells. Young (2), Robins, Simms, Galt (2), Roderique, Baker, Ogilvy (2), Beer, Luscombe, Hudson, Sangster, Scott (2), Messrs Cochran (3), Rodgers, Duff, Brown, Smith (3), Coughlan, Atkinson, McKay (2), Aitcheson, Ridder, Whyte (2), Jackson, Kett, Robson, Mitchel, Beaton, Young, Weatherall, McLean, Clarke (2), Brown (2), Donnell, Rodgers, Phillips, Heenan, Singleton, McIntyre, Harper, Baker, Beer (2), Johnstone, Finlay, Hill, Kane, Thomson.
