NEW POST OFFICE
DUNEDIN BUILDING.
(Per United Press Association.) Wellington, July 14. The construction of the Dunedin Post Office will be proceeded with without delay, according to an official statement to-night. The Hon. A. Hamilton and the Hon J. A. Bitchener have been in consultation with the heads of departments. Tenders will be called within one month and the work will begin almost immediately, as the contractors have worked out all the details. The work is to be finished in three years from the date of commencement. The foundation has already been constructed by the Public Works Department. The building will cover a whole city block of approximately 142 by 150 feet. The design is distinctly modern. There are no cornices or projections except at the Princess. Street frontage, where a large renaissance will be a feature. It will be 84 feet wide and, extending through the seven storeys, marks the main entrance front.
