ROTORUA BATHS

COMPLETION OF NEW BUILDING. WORK TO PROCEED. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, July 13. An announcement that it had been decided to proceed with the completion of the Blue Bath building at Rotorua on which work was suspended some months ago, was made to-day by the Hon. J. Bitchener. The work is to be done by the Public Works Department, which is in a position to make a recommencement. It is hoped to have the building ready for the next tourist season. The work to be done consists of the erection of the two-storeyed portion of the building with a large lounge, kitchen, store, ground floor and spacious tearoom on the upper floor and lining the bath with glazed tiles. A novel system of heating for the building has been devised by the circulation of water from a natural hot spring. A weekly average of 30 artisans will be employed at the ruling Public Works wage, not rationed employment.
