LARGE BOMB EXPLODES

DAMAGE IN QUEENSLAND TOWN.

ATTEMPT TO WRECK BUILDING. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) Brisbane, July 13. A second bomb outrage v/ithin a week occurred at Townsville when a bomb tore a large hole in a wall of Beak House. Nearly every window m the building was broken. The force of the explosion smashed the windows in the Central, Grand and Queensland hotels some 200 yards away. The mam business portion of the city was shaken. Most of the damage was done to premises known as the Canning Casket corner where all the large window’s were broken and the interior damaged. Indications point to the fact that an attempt was made to blow up the whole of the Beak House building, though the police were on street duty only 50 yards away.
