WOMEN’S DIVISION

SOUTH HILLEND BRANCH. (From Our Correspondent.) The monthly meeting of the South Hillend Branch of the W.D.F.U. was held on June 20, when Mrs J. C. Muir, in the absence of the president, presided over an attendance of eighteen members. A lengthy and interesting report of the executive meeting held at Invercargill was read and it was decided to forward a donation of 10/towards the expenses of delegates to conference. The competition “best article from a sugar bag” brought forth a fine display of goods, the prize, which was donated by Mrs Kirkwood, being won by Miss Kelly for a beautifully worked cushion. An enjoyable social hour was spent with community singing, humorous readings and vocal and instrumental items. Hostesses for the meeting were Mesdames Houston, Kirkwood and Heenan.
