ACTION AGAINST LABOUR DAILY. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 11.25 p.m.) Sydney, June 26. The case Buckland v. the Labour Daily has been settled. Mr Buckland’s winding up petition by consent was withdrawn and the Labour Daily’s appeal against Mr Buckland’s libel verdict was withdrawn. The terms of settlement otherwise were not announced.

Mr George Buckland, formerly secretary of the Australian Workers’ Union, filed a petition in the Equity Court asking for the winding up of the Labour Daily, Ltd. Mr Buckland recently obtained £5OOO damages against the Labour Daily newspaper of Sydney for libel. He claimed that judgment had not been satisfied.
