GOOD WIN IN SYDNEY. GRANVILLE DEFEATED 4-Nil. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 9.35 p.m.) Sydney, June 26. The New Zealand soccer team had a f ood win to-day against .. strong Granville suburban side, the visitors winning by four goals to nil. The teams were: — New Zealand—Gerrard, Stone, Graham, Crabbe, Christie, Stenhouse, Kay, Groves, Kershaw, Chapman, Ives. Granville—A. Willicks, F. Willicks, A. Edwards, Simpson, A. Smith, Barker, Crilley, Mair, Reilly, W. Edwards, Flynn. The first half was very even. The local defence was strong and several New Zealand attacks were repulsed. Christie, the centre half, was very heady, making many openings which< the forwards failed to finalize. At halftime there was no score. New Zealand showed much better combination in the second half, Groves netting the first goal from a follow through. Kershaw was spectacular with strong kicks into the net three times, mainl through passes from Kay on the wing. Cobbe made a brilliant run when the last goal was scored, tricking three defenders. He passed to Kay, who completed the prettiest movement seen for some time when he forced Kershaw into position for a pot then passed him the ball. Kershaw made no mistake. The scorers for New Zealand were Groves (1) and Kershaw (3). Zuill is in hospital with a split kidney received in the Test match on Saturday.
