GOLF CANADIAN FOURSOMES AT OTATARA. Despite the absence of over twenty regular competitors, there was a field of over forty for the Canadian foursomes bogey handicap at Otatara on Saturday. Tire course was in very good winter order and the weather was ideal. H. M. Smith and A. OwenJohnston went well together to finish 4 up—an excellent performance in a foursome, and H. T. INVERCARGILL TEAM VISITS ST. CLAIR. Twenty members of the Invercargill Club journeyed to Dunedin to . play a friendly game with the St. Clair Club over the week-end. The weather was fine, but cold, and during the afternoon the links were enveloped in fog which made play difficult. Although the game was not an official inter-club encounter, visitors and home players were paired off as fourballs in the morning and as singles in the afternoon. The greens, although in good condition and fairly true, had the Invercargill men guessing all the way. The results of the play gave the home club the advantage by a fair margin of games. Drake replied on behalf of the home club. QUEENS PARK CLUB. HOLLOWAY SHIELD COMPETITION. QUALIFYING ROUNDS COMPLETED. The second qualifying round of the Holloway Shield competition was played on the Queen’s Park links under excellent conditions on Saturday afternoon. The 32 lowest net scores for the two rounds qualified for the match play stages. J. C. Scandrett led the field with two fine rounds for an aggregate of 130, his gross score of 81 on Saturday being one of the best of the day. P. Clulee again showed good form, following his 66 in the first round with 68 in the second. H. Chapman also had two net scores under 70. The following qualified:—
