FAT SHEEP PRICES

REASON FOR HARDENING TENDENCY. (Per United Press Association.) Dunedin, June 15. During the last few weeks fat sheep prices at Bumside have hardened from 8/- to 9/- for tops. The advance is accredited to the fact that Canterbury buyers are operating owing to a shortage there. Lambs in the same period have advanced 4/-, due to bidding by a representative of the Canterbury agents of an English firm which latterly has concentrated at Bumside and Lorneville. Reports arriving here show that the market prices for mutton, lamb and sheep in Australia are the highest for two years. They look like going much higher.
