CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE

PERIOD OF SUSPENSION. ’ EXTENSION PROBABLE. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) Calcutta, June 14. The period of suspension of the civil disobedience movement, ending on Monday, is likely to be extended. Mr Aney, acting president of the Congress, is due at Poona to-morrow to see Gandhi, whose progress towards recovery is slow. The doctors have banned his taking part in political discussions, with the result that Mr Aney, in the absence of guidance from Gandhi, will recommend an extension of the suspension of disobedience.
