VALEDICTORY

BAYSWATER TENNIS CLUB. (From Our Correspondent.) The members of the Bayswater Tennis Club journeyed to Winton on Saturday evening to make a presentation to one of their departing members, Mr Selwyn Shaw. A very pleasant evening was spent with games and competitions, the latter being won by Misses Burnett and Flynn, Messrs F. Burnett, R. Kennedy, W. Malcolm and J. McFetrich. After supper the president (Mr Frank Malcolm) eulogised the good work done by the guest while a member of the club, and said he would be much missed. He asked Mr Shaw to accept a handsome pocket wallet as a token of the esteem in which he was held, and wished him health, wealth and prosperity in his new sphere. These remarks were endorsed by Mr F. Burnett, after which the recipient suitably acknowledged the gift. The singing of Auld Lang Syne terminated a very enjoyable function.
