WAIKAWA NEWS

(From Our Correspondent.) A pleasant evening was spent at Niagara on Saturday on the occasion of the fortnightly euchre and dance. A large crowd enjoyed dancing to music supplied by Messrs F. Pope, L. Haldane and W. Buckingham. The aim of the committee is to raise sufficient money to build ante-rooms to the hall and the funds are increasing rapidly. The winners for the evening were: Ladies’ first prize, Mrs F. Wybrow; men’s first prize, Mr E. Buckingham. Consolation prizes were won by Miss H. Buckingham and Mr W. Stronart. At Slope Point on Friday evening an enjoyable dance was held to assist school funds. Messrs F. Pope and J. Wybrow supplied the music. At the Haldane School euchre tournament the winners were Mrs S. Wybrow and Mr T. O’Brien.
