WOMEN’S DIVISION

MAKAREWA BRANCH. (From Our Correspondent.) The monthly meeting of the Makarewa branch of the W.D.F.U. was held on Tuesday, June 6, Mrs McDowell presiding over a large attendance of members. A motion of sympathy with Mrs Fraser and the Wilson family was passed. It was decided to meet on Thursday for the purpose of making a wool, quilt. An interesting talk and screening of N.Z. scenery by Mr Malcolm, of . the Tourist Department, was then given after which Mrs Kitty O’Sullivan, “the modern grandmother,” gave a lecture on “How to reduce without dieting’ which was greatly enjoyed by those present.
