PUKERAU NOTES

EUCHRE TOURNEY. The weekly euchre tournament was held in the hall last Friday evening about fifty players taking part. Mrs P. O’Hagan annexed the first prize in the ladies’ section, and Miss Jean McDonald the second prize. In the men’s section Mr Davey won in the cut off with Mr G. Scott. A short programme of dances with an interval for supper followed. , , , The local cheese factory closed down for the season last Saturday. The season’s output amounted to 210 tons as against 185 tons for last season an increase of 25 tons. Members of the Pukerau Rifle Club held a practice shoot on the McNab range last Thursday afternoon, in fine but cold weather. Ten shots were fired at 300, 500 and 600 yards. Range prizes were won by G. Scott (2) and F. Trapski. Following were the scores with handicaps:—
