The Karetu is reported to have left Sydney on June 3 for Lautoka, Suva, and Auckland. She is due at Auckland on June 20. The Oceanic Company’s liner Monterey, which left Auckland on June 3 in continuation of her voyage from Sydney, cleared Suva on June 6 for Los Angeles, via Pago Pago, and Honolulu. She is due at Los Angeles on Saturday. The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the Remeuera left Auckland on Saturday for London, via the Panama Canal. She should reach London about July 16. The C. and D. Line’s motor ship Port Fairy left Wellington on Friday for Southampton and London, via Dakar. She is carrying as passengers Mr and Mrs A. Donahue. Dr. G. R. No orders have been received by the two large overseas vessels, the motor tanker Brunswick, and the motor ship Speybank, which are at present lying in the stream at Auckland at anchor. The Brunswick arrived from San Pedro, via Wellington, on May 22, and after unloading the remainder of her cargo of bulk oil was taken to her anchorage pending instructions, this being the first occasion on which she has been so delayed. The Speybank discharged 8500 tons of phosphates from Ocean Island at King’s wharf, Auckland, before moving to the stream to wait for a new charter. NORTHUMBERLAND AT BLUFF. The Federal Line steamer Northumberland, which reached Bluff yesterday from Port Chalmers to continue her loading for the Homeland, came out on her present voyage with West Coast of England cargo for the Dominion. The quake, which occurred at 8.37 p.m. (ship’s time) on Saturday, May 20, and lasted about 12 seconds, caused severe vibration throughout the ship, providing an uncanny experience for those on board. Auckland was reached on May 23. her | other ports before arrival at Bluff being Wellington, Lyttelton, and Port Chalmers (where discharge of her English cargo was completed). Work should finish at this

port to-night and departure will probably take place to-morrow morning for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington and Auckland. Great Interest was taken by officers and crew in the various events, especially the sailing races.
