DEBATING SOCIETY

MEETING AT WILD BUSH. The Wild Bush Literary and Debating Society held, its fortnightly meeting on Monday night when .Mr J. Cormack presided. The subject under discussion was: “That further growth and development of the Empire will be directed more by Government action than by private enterprise.” The affirmative was led by Mr A. Ingram supported by Mr W. Anderson. Mr R. Shearing assisted by Mr T. Guise upheld the negative. This proved a very interesting debate, the negative side winning by a small margin. At the next meeting the “ladies’ debate” will be held.
