BOGUS DOCUMENTS. FINE OF £5 IMPOSED. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, June 9. William Edward Allison was charged to-day with selling documents in imitation of judicial processes. DetectiveSergeant Revell said defendant had written to the police forwarding a plea of guilty to the Court. The charge was laid under Section 2 of the Police Offences Act which provided a maximum penalty of £2O. Defendant had a number of documents printed in Christchurch headed: “Final notice of intention to proceed in the local Court for recovery of debt.” Defendant had canvassed New Zealand with these and people had been prosecuted for sending them out. “We know nothing about this man,” said Detective Revell. “We have not had an opportunity of interviewing him apart from serving the summons.” The Magistrate imposed a fine of aos on the first charge and £2 on the second.
