CORSICAN BANDIT
SENTENCED AND FINED. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) Ajaccio, June 8. Spada was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment and fined 1000 francs for being in the illegal possession of firearms. He will be tried in November for alleged murder. The notorious Spada (the bandit king) was arrested in hiding near a village on May 29. He was arrested with his mother, father, and two brothers. He was recently seized with religious mania, and left his mountain fastnesses and went to the village of Coggia with a crucifix on his breast and a crown on his head. He knelt in prayer before the church. The authorities thus learned of his presence and arrested him.
