THE PERIODICALS

In the April issue of Short Stories, Jackson Gregory continues his serial, “High Mesa,” a Western romance in which impersonation plays a part. Garnett Radcliffe’s “The Lucky Man” is a story of action on the North-west frontier’ of India. “The Head” is set in the Celibes and deals with the head-hunt-ers. Mexico supplies the scene for “Jawbone Kelly,” who has a lively part in a revolution, while “The Slayer” by Henry G. Lamond is an excellent story about Red Dog Dingo in Australia. My copy of this magazine comes from Messrs Gordon and Gotch, Ltd., through the N.Z. Book Depot, Esk street
