CHRISTCHURCH CITY
COUNCIL ELECTED. SEVEN HUNDRED AND TWENTY COUNTS. (Per United Press Association.) Christchurch, May 11. With the completion of the official count the new City. Council consists of the following: LABOUR—Rev. J. K. Archer, Mrs McCombs, J. S. Barnett, Miss Howard, J. Mathieson, T. H. Butterfield, G. T. Thurston. CITIZENS—E. H. Andrews, J. W. Beanland, M. E. Lyons, W. Hayward, T. Milliken, T. Andrews. INDEPENDENT—F. T. Evans, H. T. J. Thacker. SOCIALIST—A. E. Armstrong. Seven hundred and twenty counts were required under the proportional representation system to elect the council. Miss Howard (Labour) has now been properly enrolled, and it is not considered her election will now be challenged.
