FIRST AID CLASS
ST. JOHN NURSING DIVISION. On Tuesday the members of the St. John Nursing Division met in the new building for the first time. . It was appropriate on such an occasion that the lecturer should be the divisional surgeon, Dr. McCaw. There was a good attendance, and several enrolled for the first aid class which begins on Tuesday, May 16. The doctor’s lecture on the endocrine glands—a subject of great interest —was most enlightening. The profound effect produced on the growth and constitution of the human body by the hormones secreted by these glands was described. The members of the division were pleased to have Mrs McCaw with them to present certificates and a medallion to Miss Whyte. They were grateful to the divisional surgeon for informing them on a subject in which there is still much to be learned. It is not yet too late to enrol and obtain a knowledge of first aid—so necessary and useful when emergencies arise. The lady superintendent of the Nursing Division appeals to all interested to join the class and make this year’s work the most successful yet.
