WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

MEETING AT WAIMUMU. In spite of the inclement weather there were 19 members present at the Waimumu Women’s Institute meeting which was held in the hall on Tuesday. Mrs Hayward presided. A number of remits were read and discussed. A welcome was extended to Mrs Hall, a visitor to the district. A competition for the best bar of home-made soap was won by Mrs Robertson, Mrs Forbes being second. A motor car guessing competition was won by Mrs R. Johnston, Mrs Hall being second.
