Clark (president), F. N. R. Downard, J. W. Aitken, W. P. Thorn, J. J. Griffiths, D. Russell (vice-pre-sident) and James Ingram (secretary). The Australasian Performing Rights Association wrote with further reference to the society’s license to the association. It was resolved to reply that the society accepted no liability, installation of New Council. The installation of the Mayor and councillors took place on Wednesday evening, the new council being his Worship the Mayor (Mr C. D. McConnell) and Councillors J. G. Sutherland, W. Piercy, D. A. Congratulations on his again occupying the chair were extended to his Worship by all the. councillors. In his remarks Councillor Ingram mentioned the absence of Mr J. W. The speaker felt sure it was not what Mr Aitken had done at the council table that accounted for his defeat, but outside influence had Deen responsible.
