BLUFF COUNCIL
STATUTORY MEETING. COMMITTEES APPOINTED. A statutory meeting of the Bluff Borough Council was held at noon yesterday in the Council Chambers, the Mayor and all the recently elected members being present, with the exception of Councillors H. M. Joss and A. E. Budd. The meeting was called for the purpose of installing the Mayor, Mr T. F. Doyle, the signing of declarations by councillors, and the appointing of committees. The installing of Mr Doyle in the Mayoral office was carried out by Councillor N. W. McGorlick, who congratulated his Worship on his re-elec-tion and wished him a successful term df office. Mr Doyle suitably replied. The installation was followed by the swearing-in of councillors, on completion of which his Worship welcomed members and wished them a pleasant term at the table. Committees were appointed as follows :
Finance—The Mayor and Councillors A. E. Budd, O. F. Metzger, N. W. McGorlick, A. C. McKillop and W. T. Walker.
Public Works, Building and Quarry —The Mayor, Councillors Budd, J. Martin, McGorlick, McKillop and Walker.
Electric Light—The Mayor, Councillors Budd, McGorlick, McKillop and D. F. Smith.
Fire Brigade—Councillors Budd (chairman), Joss, McKillop, and W. T. White. Cemeteries and Reserves —Councillors Joss (chairman), Metzger, Walker and White.
