With A Tailor-made

Tailored costumes seem to be reviving a different type of hat from the beret for morning wear. This new hat has been launched in grey felt and light beige felt by some of the renowned Paris milliners for early spring. It takes the form of a shortbrimmed sailor shape with a tuckedin crown and simple trimming of black gros-grain. In most instances short brims are rolled up very slightly on one side, but some are turned down all the way round in the fashion of a saucer brim. This revival smacks somewhat of the post-war “gigolo mode, but modernized for 1933 it is worn with a becoming tilt rather than the “cloche” dip surrounding the back of the head and ears. They look particularly smart worn with classic tailormade suits.
