WEATHER SUMMARY. (From Our Correspondent.) During the month of March rain fell on eight days for a total of 1.12 inches. Only one heavy rain fell during the month, when 85 points was registered on the 21st. The fall for March, 1932, was 3.10 in. / For the period under review some lively north-westerly gales blew, and on several occasions they reached hurricane force. On a few days the wind was from the south. The temperatures were variable, with the thermometer reaching 80 degrees shade temperature on the 20th, followed two days later by snow on the mountain tops. Although the month was unusually dry, it has enabled harvesting to be carried on expeditiously, and the greatest part of the crops is now in stack or threshed from the stocks. At the time of writing a beneficial rain has fallen, 192 points being registered between Sunday and Monday morning.
