OBITUARY
DR. WRIGHT. PRIMATE OF AUSTRALIA. (Per United Press Association.) Christchurch, February 24. Dr. Wright, Archbishop of Sydney and Primate of Australia, died in St, George’s hospital this afternoon. _ Dr. Wright had been spending a holiday at Hanmer Springs. He became ill on Sunday and on medical advice was brought to Christchurch. On Wednesday evening he entered the hospital. His condition grew worse and on Thursday the doctors decided an operation was imperative. This was performed at 10.30 that morning but the patient’s strength was unequal to the shock. The Archbishop revived for a brief period, but collapsed and died at 12.45. REGRET IN SYDNEY. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 9.15 p.m.) Sydney, February 24. Deep regret was expressed in Anglican circles at the death of Archbishop ’’’right at Christchurch. His health had been indifferent for a considerable time. The Sun says that outside his own communion, the Primate was not widely known. He did not concern himself with public affairs, but always bore his part in philantrophic movements without ostentation.
