GENERAL NOTES. The Tamatea made her mid-weekly run to Stewart Island yesterday, leaving Bluff at 10.20 a.m. She returned m the eveiring. arriving at half-past five. The Union ■ Company’s freighter Waipiata was scheduled to-clear, Lyttelton yesterday afternoon for Dunedin and Bluff. Due here to-morrow morning, the vessel will sail in the afternoon on her return to Wellington and Auckland, via ports. The Union Company's Indian trader Narbada is to clear’Wellington to-day for Lyttelton, Timaru, Dunedin and Bluff. The Narbada will reach Bluff on January ~3, with a cargo of Eastern merchandise, for discharge and sail on the following day for Newcastle to bunker. The Union Steam Ship Company advise that the intercolonial freighter Wainui was to have left Melbourne yesterday afternoon for Bluff direct, where she Is due on Monday morning. On completion the vessel will sail in the afternoon ror Dunedin, Lyttelton and Wellington. The Wainui will return on the 23rd to load for Melbourne, sailing the same day. . The Union Company s Wairuna. cleared Auckland on Monday afternoon for Wellington and southern ports including Bluff. Arriving here on the 17th, the vessel will sail the same day for Melbourne. The Union Steam Ship Company advise that the Karepo was to have cleared Hobart on Tuesday for Bluff, where she is due on Saturday evening, sailing on Mondav for Dunedin and northern ports. The Waikouaiti is to leave Sydney on Saturday for Bluff, being due the following Thursday and sailing the same day for Dunedin. . . • < „ , Tire New Zealand Shipping Company s liner Rotorua, which sailed from London on December 22 for New Zealand, cleared Curacao on Friday last. ... The steamer Citv of Bagdad) is due at Auckland on January 18 from Philadelphia and New York. She will discharge at Auckland. Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Australian ports. PAKEHA AT BLUFF. An arrival at Bluff early yesterday afternoon was the Shaw, Savill, and Albion Line steamer Pakeha, from London, via Panama Suva, Lyttelton and Port Chalmers. She later • began discharging English cargo. The Pakeha left London on November 11 and had favourable weather all the way with the exception of one day’s heavy rain at Panama. The Pakeha came out via Port Royal and Panama and arrived at Suva on December 23. She remained at Suva until December 26, discharging 650 tons of general merchandize from London, and loading 850 tons of sugar, 730 cases of butter and 1080 cases of canned pineapples. While at Suva a Christmas dinner and dance was given for the passengers and crew at an hotel. The vessel reached Lyttelton on January 1. ... Captain W. J.
