THEFT AND FRAUD
INSURANCE CANVASSER. (Per United Press Association.) Greymouth, December 22. William Alfred Sandman, aged 37, was committed for sentence this morning on a charge of theft of £398 13/3, the property of the Australasian Temperance and General Mutual Life Society, by whom he was employed as a canvasser, and also on a charge of fraudulently altering a bank lodgment slip from £2 1/5 to £52 10/5. Bail was allowed and accused was ordered to report to the police weekly.
