TWO MONTHS IN GAOL

FRAUD AND WIFE DESERTION. (Per United Press Association.) Auckland, December 22. Arrested at a seaside resort while on his honeymoon, Ernest Henry Ricketts, aged 50, a motor driver, will spend the next two months in Mount Eden Gaol. The police said that accused, while staying at the boardinghouse of a man named White, got a moneylender out to the house, and by representing himself as White and the owner of the furniture he obtained £B. Then he got married on the £B. The Probation Officer said accused’s practice was to get into touch with clergymen. They found him jobs and he let them down. He had deserted his wife in Christchurch some years ago. Counsel for accused said his bride was prepared to stick to him.
