RIFLE SHOOTING
INVERCARGILL DEFENCE CLUB. W. A. DIACK SCORES WELL. The monthly competition for the Wills Shield was fired at Otatara on Saturday afternoon in fine weather. The shooting conditions were favourable, but the scoring generally was below the usual average. The veteran W. A. Diack was in good form and topped the score with points to spare. He made 97 with 34 at 600 yards, which was a fine effort. The shield this month was won by A. Lyall’s team who scored 274 points, W. A. Diack’s team being a close second with 273.
