DENTAL CLINICS

NO INCREASES IN CHARGES. (From Our Parliamentary Reporter.) Wellington, October 26. An assurance that the Government would not adopt the recommendations of the National Expenditure Commission and increase the charges for school dental clinic services was given by the Minister of Health (the Hon. J. A. Young) in the House of Representatives this afternoon in reply to an urgent question asked by Mr F. Jones (L., Dunedin South). Many of the clinics would have to be closed if the charges were increased, Mr Jones said. It was not the intention of the Government to increase the charges at the present time, said the Minister. In reply to an urgent question asked by Mr H. M. Rushworth (C.P., Bay of Islands), the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes said that the Government was considering the question of setting up a Select Committee to inquire into the monetary system of the Dominion.
