“I am of the strong opinion that unless they hold back the wool and fix a minimum price of 1/- a lb, or whatever will pay the producer, there will be no real improvement in the industry,” said Mr F. V/. Sykes, of Nelson, who returned to Wellington on Monday by the Monowai after a six months’ tour of Australia. Mr Sykes said that although the price of wool had improved it had not improved sufficiently to pay the producer. As the price of wool was at present, the foreign buyers were reaping an unfair advantage.
