STAR OF WAIKIWI LODGE.

The star of Waikiwi Lodge .No. 95 held its fortnightly meeting in the Waikiwi Public Hall on Thursday, September 29, the gavel being in the hands of N.G. Bro. H. Campbell, who presided over an attendance of 45 members and visitors.

A letter was received from the secretary of The Southland District Lodge No. 4 notifying that the Star of. Waikiwi Lodge was successful in winning the initiatory competition for the year 1932. Various letters of congratulation were received from the other lodges in the Central Jurisdiction.

The election of officers resulted in V.G. Bro. W. C. Erickson being elected to the principal chair. Bro. W. Connors was elected Vice-Grand, P.G. Bro. I. Logan was elected Recording Secretary, and P.G. Bro. R. C. Buckingham was elected treasurer for the current term. A vote of confidence was then taken for the financial secretary, P.G. Bro. E. M. Fraser, and found in his favour.

The secretary was instructed to notify the D.D.G.M. asking him to be present at the next meeting for the purpose of carrying out the installation of officers. The Noble Grand welcomed visitors from Loyal Pioneer of Southland and Aroha Lodges and White Flower Encampment, the visiting brethren suitably responding. After the meeting the members adjourned to the social room where a pleasant hour was spent. Items were contributed by Bros. T. Fraser, W. Connors, M. D. Joyce, J. Aspray and P.G. Bro. P. Baldwin.
