Jimmy Hall, the Winnipeg 400 metres representative, developed a carbuncle on the right leg and may be unable to compete. The New Zealand boxers, who are training hard, have been somewhat affected by the heat. H. F. Thomas, while sparring with a big partner, received a cut above the lip necessitating three stitches. The runner S. A. Black has returned to the track following hospital treatment for back soreness.
