RATE NOTICES. THE SOUTHLAND ELECTRIC POWER BOARD RATES—I932/33. PUBLIC NOTICE OF SPECIAL ORDER. PUBLIC notice is hereby given that at a Meeting of the Board held on Tuesday, the 17th day of May, 1932, the following resolution, by way of Special Order was passed, and that Tuesday, the 21st day of June, 1932, at 10.30 a.m. and the Board’s Office, Dee Street, Invercargill, have been fixed as the time and place for the subsequent meeting of the Board for the confirmation of such resolution:— THE RESOLUTION. THAT the Southland Electric-power Board hereby resolves by way of special order as follows:— for the financial year commencing on the first day of April, 1932, and ending on the thirty-first day of March, 1933, the amount of the estimated expenditure of the Southland Electric-power Board exceeds the amount of the estimated income of the Board AND WHEREAS the Board proposes under and in pursuance of the provisions of Subsection (1) of Section 56 of the Electricpower Boards Act, 1925, to raise the amount of the excess of such expenditure in part by a uniform rate on the basis of the unimproved value of all rateable property in the Southland Electric-power District and under the provisions of Subsection (2) of the said Section 56 to raise the balance of such excess by separate rates on the basis of the unimproved value of all rateable property within the portions of the said district hereafter defined NOW THEREFORE for the purpose of levying such separate rates therein the said Board hereby defines the said portions of the said district as follows namely:— Portion 1: The portion of the Southland Electric-power District included within the boundaries of the County of Southland. Portion 2: The portion of the Southland Electric-power District included within the boundaries of the County of Wallace. Portion 3: That portion of the Southland Electric-power District which is also part of the County of Tuapeka. AND THAT this resolution be submitted for confirmation by way of Special Order at the Meeting of the Board to be held at the Board’s Offices, Dee Street, Invercargill, on Tuesday, the 21st day of June, 1932, at 10.30 a.m. CHAS. THAT the Southland Electric Power Board pursuant to and in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 56 of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, as amended by Section 8 of the Electric-power Boards Amendment Act, 1927, hereby resolves by way of special order as follows:— THAT the full amount of the uniform rate to be levied by the Board under Section 56 of the Electric-power Boards Act, 1925, for its financial year commencing on the Ist day of April, 1932, and expiring on the 31st day of March, 1933, shall be payable with respect only to properties (as defined by the said Section) for which at the time of making such rate a supply of electric power will be available at the boundary thereof or at a point within ten chains of such boundary, either from the Board or from any licensee or other authority, and THAT with respect to properties for which such supply will not then be so available one-fourth of the rate shall, subject to the provisions of Subsection (b) of Section 3 of the Electric-power Boards Amendment Act, 1928/ be payable, notwithstanding that with respect to any such property the whole rate may be demanded and that this resolution be submitted for confirmation at a Meeting of the Board to be held in the Board’s Offices, Dee Street, Invercargill, on Tuesday, the 21st day of June, 1932, at 10.30 a.m. CHAS.
