CONVICTION QUASHED
ALLEGED THEFT OF GLASS MUG. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, June 14. The Chief Justice, Sir Michael Myers, in the Supreme Court allowed the appeal of William James Baker, who was sentenced to two months’ imprisonment for the theft of a glass mug during the street disturbance on May 10 and quashed the conviction. His Honour said there was no evidence that any such mug was stolen from any of the places looted
