THE DE MONTALK CASE. (United Press Assn.—By Telegraph—Copyright.) London, March 21. Sir Herbert Samuel (Home Secretary), in answer to a question in the House of Commons, suggesting a review of the sentence on de Montalk, said he could not consider the case in view of the application already made for appeal to the House of Lords. Geoffrey de Montalk, a lecturer, was sentenced at the Old Bailey to six months’ imprisonment in the second division on a charge of obscene libel. Accused said ho was a New Zealand-born Briton. His appeal was dismissed.
