It is possible that the annual interUniversity tournament which was this year to have been held at Wellington at Easter will be cancelled owing to recent announcements affecting students financially in many ways. The Canterbury College tournament committee at an emergency meeting held on Saturday morning decided to make a recommendation to the executive of the Students’ Association that the holding of the Easter tournament lx? suspended until further notice. It was decided to ascertain from the tournament committees of Auckland, Victoria and Otago Colleges whether they agreed. The decision was not caused wholly by the announcement of the recent economy proposals. It is still possible, however, that an inter-Uni-versity athletic meeting may be arranged instead of a full tournament.
