BOOKMAKERS HIT
TOTALISATOR IN ENGLAND. (United Peers Assn.—By Telegraph—Copyright.) London, March 6. The latest challenge to the totalisator, which last year deprived the bookmakers of nearly £4,000,000, is the decision of some of the leading bookmakers to offer five per cent, above totalisator returns from the beginning of the flat racing season to backers who wish their transactions to be conducted at totalisator odds. They hope to increase their business and counterbalance the sacrifice.
