REDUCED FEE

CRACK BASEBALL PLAYER. (United Press Assn. —By Telegraph—Copyright.) New York, January 14. There is a variety of proofs that the depression has struck America. Babe Ruth to-day returned unsigned his contract calling for the payment of 70,000 dollars for his services during the 1932 baseball season. He said that a reduction of 10,000 dollars of last year’s payment was acceptable, but he mast have a two-year contract. The Baseball Club management recently declared that “Never again would there be a ball player worth 80,000 dollars.” An amicable adjustment, however, is expected.
