The Tamatea, which arrived from Stewart Island on Thursday night, sailed again for the Island at 11.55 a.m. yesterday. She will return to Bluff this morning. The C. and D. Line vessel Port Melbourne was expected to arrive outside the harbour last night and to berth this morning. She loads frozen meat and other Southland products for the Home market aud will sail for Port Chalmers in continuation. The Union Company’s Poolta cleared Westport at 4 a.m. yesterday for Wellington and Bluff. The vessel will probably leave Wellington on Monday for Bluff direct, where she is due on Wednesday evening. The vessel will sail the following day for Dunedin, Oamaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Nelson and New Plymouth. The Union Company’s Waikouaiti was to leave Sydney at noon yesterday and is due at Bluff on Wednesday morning. After sailing the same day for northern ports, the vessel is due back on January 28 to load for Sydney. The Union Steam Ship Company advise that the Kaimiro sailed from Melbourne at 3 p.m. on Wednesday for Bluff, where she is due on Monday. The vessel sails the same day for Dunedin. The Union Company’s freighter Waipiata was to clear Auckland yesterday for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Bluff. Due at Bluff on Thursday to load for Welling ton and Auckland, via ports, the vessel fails again the same day. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s motor liner Opawa left Auckland on Tuesday for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Timaru to complete unloading cargo from west coast, ports of Great Britain. The Union Company’s steamer Komata, which for many years carried passengers and cargo between Wellington and Westport, and which has been laid up for several months, has been recommissioned and was to sail from Wellington on Thursday for West port. The vessel has accommodation for 40 passengers. During the time the Komata has been laid up passengers from Wellington for Westport have had to travel via Nelson or via Lyttelton. Carrying passengers, mails and cargo, the New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Rotorua left Wellington on Wednesday for Southampton and London, via Panama. Personal Items. Mr W. Cole has relieved Mr W. J. Hill as second officer of the Rangatira, for holidays. Captain C. G. Turner is taking temporary Command of the Gabriella at Sydney this week. The Totara recommissioned at Wellington on January 7, with Captain F. J. G. Warren as master, Mr P. C. Williams as mate, and Mr B. C. Roberts second mate. Mr D. M. Keith has rejoined the Aorangi as chief officer, and Mr E. M. Anderson has reverted to second officer, relieving Mr R. N. Turner for holiday leave. Captain G. B. Corby has taken command of the Karepo, and his deck officers will be:—Chief, Mr P. E. Ryan; second, Mr D. Luckett; third, Mr J. V. Broadhouse. Captain E. R. Lowe has been appointed master of the Wingatui, and his officers will be: —Chief, Mr G. W. Evans; second, Mr R. D. Brebner; third, Mr J. Forbes. Mr C. Burgess has rejoined the Narbada ’ as chief officer, relieving Mr J. E. Warwick, who has transferred to the Hauraki in a similar capacity, relieving Mr 11. A. Brockett. for holidays. Captain C. W. Ostenfeld has taken command of the Kalingo, wihch recommissioned at Sydney last week, and his deck officers are:- —Chief, Mr 11. Lee; second, Mr D. Munro; third, Mr C. E. Carter.
