MATHESON’S, LTD.
The Spirit Of Giving.
At a time like the present, when the word depression is rife and reduced incomes are the rule rather than the exception, the spirit of giving is hard to cultivate. Anyone wishing to overcome this difficulty, however, cannot do better than pay a visit to Matheson’s Ltd., that store with a reputation for high quality and cheap groceries. So great is the range of possible gifts and so useful and cheap are the gifts themselves that the store should serve as a happy hunting ground for those in search of Christmas presents. Matheson’s do not confine themselves to suitable gifts, though; the gastronomic part of the seasonal festivities is generously provided for with all manner of good things to eat. For those who desire to give articles for
the home, Matheson’s have a magnificent range of Linga-longa ware and Scilla ware, both ranges being of English manufacture. Cups, saucers and plate of Ainsley china are also tastefully displayed and they would indeed be welcome in any house. To look at the confectionery counter in this store is to fall, so magnificent is the showing of toothsome dainties. Biscuits with hitherto unheard of assortments, boxes of chocolates ranging in price from 1/- to 15/-, Christmas novelties, Pascal's special range of novelties, Christmas stockings priced at
from fid to 10/- and all the different varieties of chocolates are but a few of the things that Matheson’s provide. Of course no party would be complete without bonbons and a liberal supply of these fun-pro-vokers is available. For those in doubtabout Christmas decorations a visit to Matheson’s is the only way out.
In the grocery department of this wonderful store lies the complete solution of the housewife’s difficulties. New season’s figs, dates and muscatels, preserved ginger, Jordan almonds, jellies, cordials, tinned fruits, and hams of a special quality, every one of which is guaranteed, can be purchased at amazingly low prices. If the Christmas cake is the difficulty then Matheson’s can provide seedless and seeded raisins, currants, peel, cherries and every other ingredient for a Christmas cake likely to tempt the sourest tooth. It is the boast of Matheson’s that' they never fail to give satisfaction and who, after seeing their display, can deny that statement ?
