YOUNG MAN COMMITTED FOR

SENTENCE. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, November 25. Pleading guilty to breaking and entering the shop of H. M. McGirr and stealing goods valued at £lO 8/6, with stealing 220 postal packets and letters from the Te Aro Post Office, and to attempting to steal money and stamps to the value of £2, the property of the Henry Balfour Burden, aged 21, was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. A detective stated that the mail contained cheques to the value of £3OOO, none of which was negotiable. About six had not been recovered and the accused said those had been burnt. The greater part of the mail was recovered.
