SCHNEIDER CUP

FRENCH AND ITALIAN INTENTIONS. (British Official Wireless.) Rugby, August 21. It is understood that in the event of the Italian and French not after all competing for the Schneider Cup in the race on September 12, the British team will fly round the course at the highest speed attainable by the new machines, which are expected to considerably exceed the last figure. However, although the intentions of the Italians and French are still unknown, strong hopes are held at Cakhot that both countries will be represented. It is anticipated that the final decision cannot be delayed much longer, and will probably be reached during the week-end. The funeral of Lieutenant Brinton took place to-day. The inquest, which commenced yesterday, was adjourned after formal evidence, pending a report of a special inquiry into the cause of the accident.
